🔧 Refinement Pity System
The Refinement Pity System increases your chances of success with each failed refinement attempt, helping to reduce frustration and reward persistence.
💡 How It Works
Each failed refinement attempt increases your success chance for the same item and refinement level.
The bonus depends on the refinement level:
+1 to +12: +10% of the base success rate per failure
Above +12: +5% of the base success rate per failure
The bonus stacks up to 5 times the base bonus for that level.
Bonus is item-specific and character-specific.
🔒 Success Rate Cap
The maximum success rate (even with pity bonuses) is 90% for any level above +4.
🧠 Pity Bonus Logic
Bonuses are tied to the specific item ID and refinement level.
Refining a different item does not affect other items' bonuses.
When you successfully refine, the pity bonus for that item & level is reset.
Bonuses are tracked per character and are saved until refinement succeeds.
🧮 Success Rate Display
The game displays your current total success chance.
Decimal values are rounded down. (Example: 66.5% is shown as 66%)
📘 Example
You try to refine a Level 1 Armor (Item ID: 12345
) from +4 to +5:
Base success rate: 60%
1st Try

+0%
60%
2nd Try

+6%
66%
3rd Try
2
+12%
72%
4th Try
3
+18%
78%
5th Try
4
+24%
84%
6th Try
5
+30%
90% (Cap)
If you switch to refining another armor (Item ID:
67890
), the bonus for12345
stays untouched. When you finally succeed with
12345
, its bonus is reset to 0.
🛡️ Ore & Item Protection Notes
HD Ores:
Safe to use — items cannot be destroyed on failure.
Enriched Ores:
Risky — items can be destroyed on failure.
However, using a Blacksmith's Blessing alongside enriched ores prevents item destruction.
